Supersalon is the creation of Jess Wang, an internationally trained stylist with two decades of experience. After leading at Melbourne’s iconic Miss Gertrude Salon, Jess spent four years building Jess Wang Hair, a solo practice where the seeds of Supersalon were planted. Working one-on-one allowed her to slow down, connect deeply with clients, and carve her own, unique path. She makes decisions that reflect her values and shows that a salon could be different from the traditional model.
Supersalon is the natural evolution of that journey: a quieter, sharper, more human space. A salon that cuts through the noise and rests on a simple principle: good hair for good people.
It’s an experience without the hype: calm, refined, and centred on you and your style. Jess brings mastery in precision, dry and curl cutting, and traditional barbering; shaping hair that works as well in real life as it does walking out the door.
At its heart, Supersalon is about community and inclusivity. After working solo, Jess felt ready to return to a team environment, bringing together stylists with their own life experiences, unique skills and perspectives. Each team member shares the same values: respect, openness, and craft. Together, they offer services for all hair textures and shapes, with gender-neutral pricing and the option of quiet appointments to ensure everyone feels welcome and comfortable.
Sustainability is also non-negotiable. Supersalon works exclusively with Davines, a B-Corp brand that puts people and planet first, ensuring that care for the environment sits alongside care for clients.

Hi, I'm Jess! I’m a cutting specialist with a passion for creating personalised cuts and giving a relaxed, warm salon experience. Whether it's precision, dry cutting, curls, or barbering, I focus on styles that feel great every day. What I enjoy most is making a connection with my clients and helping them find a style that makes them feel like their best selves. I was born in Taiwan, grew up in Brisbane and now call Melbourne home. When I'm not cutting hair, I enjoy cooking and eating delicious food, binge-watching a mix of high-brow and low-brow shows, and indulging in crafts like sewing and ceramics.

Hello! I'm Dylan, a colour specialist with over 11 years of expertise. Originally hailing from New Zealand, I've happily made Melbourne my home for the past three years. While I love all things colour, I have earned a reputation as a blonde expert, and as it turns out, I'm also the go-to person for adding a pop of pink. Many people love a touch of pink in their hair! It's always exciting to create unique looks tailored to my client’s hair and style. Outside the salon, I’m a total geek at heart - gaming, comic books, anime, and even a little cosplay fuel a lot of my creativity and inspiration.

My approach blends technical precision with a relaxed, intuitive feel, whether it’s razor work, dry cutting, or vivid colour transformations. I’m highly attentive to each client’s needs, bringing care, understanding and creativity to every appointment. Clients know me for my warm, upbeat energy in the chair. I’ve recently joined Supersalon, bringing a fresh, modern approach to contemporary hair.

“A godsend...”
Jess Wang is a godsend and that's no exaggeration! As someone with thick, Asian hair, Jess knows exactly how cut it so that it sits well with minimal effort. She's super knowledgeable and listens to what you want while providing helpful suggestions. I love that she respects my laziness and provides haircuts that require no styling and still look good! Jess is also great to chat to, and I always look forward to my haircuts. Would 100% recommend her, and already have (and all my referrals are Jess regulars now too)!

“Never been disappointed”
I have been seeing Jess as a hairdresser for about 6 years now. She has an incredible eye for detail and a lovely, warm nature. I have never been disappointed with one of her hair cuts, and she always goes the extra length to ensure you leave the salon with perfectly styled hair! She is very easy to talk to and is happy to share her hair styling advice and knowledge. I always look forward to my hair cuts with Jess!
